I’m one of those weirdos who actually likes the gym.
There’s something about seeing progress that keeps me going.
Confidence works like this too. It builds each time you beat anxiety.
And while we think that growth starts with motivation, motivation actually starts with a PUSH.
Cheat Code: Push First
Social anxiety loves to tell a lie.
When you’re motivated, then you can push yourself.
But the truth is the reverse.
When you push yourself, your growth will give you motivation
So when you’re comfortable with smaller wins, pick ONE way to push:
- People: 1:1 → small groups → crowd
- Uncertainty: less planning & rehearsing
- Stakes: Texting → Phone Call → In Person
- Hours: Stay longer in fearful situations
Do this for a while and you’ll notice a nice shift:
- What was impossible becomes hard
- What was hard becomes manageable
- What was manageable becomes easy
That’s your confidence muscle growing.
